The Japanese
bombed Pearl Harbor on Dec 7th, 1941. The War cut our cloth until its end. Fabric
rationing forced women's suits narrower and their skirts shorter. It also made
renegades out of the in your face wearers of the Zoot Suit. The end of the war
brought Paris couturier, Christian Dior into the forefront of fashion with the
"New Look". The skirts were huge.The waists small. The men, not to be out done,
shone in suits and sportswear in a new palette of colors and ties so outlandish
they are a collectable all by themselves.
