1930s Burgundy Velvet Robe

SUMPTUOUS BEAUTY. 1930s Style. Some people lounge around the house in sweats. And you could call it a personal crusade, but I’m going to put an end to it, one elegant robe at a time! Throw this beautiful silk (or rayon velvet-I’m not positive) velvet robe on over a bias nightie (or nothing, if you are that kinda girl!) and enter a world of richness. Because, you see, lavish living is in the details, not in bank balances. And there are abundant details in this robe- quilted all over for softness and warmth, the collar is notched and the sleeves are lightly padded at the cap. There is a patch pocket on the right hip and the robe has a surplus wrap front. It is tied with a self fabric belt and is entirely lined with pale blush pink whisper taffeta. The label states size 12, but it fits a modern 6/8. But you can move the hook and eye to fit a 10. A larger size could wear it as a long coat, if they added a frog closure or other closure that does not require an over lap. It would look great worn this way over some silk cigarette pants and mules. I could find nothing wrong with this piece (except it doesn’t fit me!). The measurements are: bust-36, waist-27", hips-36". The largest you could go would be ( in the same order) 39", 33", 39". The sleeve length is 21", the length from the back of the collar to the waist is 15 1/2" and from the waist to the hem is 39".

Price: $95
