1800s Silk Jacket Beautiful Buttons.

Beautiful Braidwork. Beautiful Body. The jacket is a great size (modern 8/10) and has a great shape with big leg’o mutton sleeves and a six gore back with enough room for a huge butt ...oops! I mean bustle. There are 14 buttons that have a shiny/matte basket weave look to them. Also, on the front of the jacket is some exquisite braidwork. The braidwork measures 22" long. The jacket has a hook and eye closure and the fabrication is silk gazar. Now, if that threw up the red flags, it should have. Yes, the silk is shattering, especially in the collar, shoulders, and sleeves. However, if you are a goth girl, the tattered, decaying condition works! If you are a collector of re-enactor, it is a wearable modern size 8/10, so it would be be a wonderful piece to replicate . You won’t have to do all sorts of alterations to the pattern and you can use the buttons and braidwork to make it look authentic. The measurements are: chest-39", waist 35", length from collar to hem-32 1/2"

Victorian Robe/Coat

Where's the Garden Party? This lovely Victorian floor length coat/robe is sheer lawn. Unlike many Victorians it is exceedingly modern. It has simple clean lines with no frou frou. It has a shawl collar and dolman sleeves that have separate piece bell cuffs. There are 21 covered buttons at the waist, with 12 on the bodice, 9 on the skirt and 1 at the waist. The waist seam is piped and the skirt is practically a circle. It has a horsehair hem, so it floats in the breeze. This coat looks incredible on. We have paired it with old corsets and petticoats (for a naughty victorian/goth look), bias slip dresses, and over modern cigarette pants and tank tops. It is in excellent shape except for the covered buttons which have some rust, and 3 faint shadows of a rust next to the buttons. The slip that we are showing with it is NOT included- sorry. The measurements are; bust-35", waist-26", back of collar to waist-16", waist to hem-40" and sleeves from collar to cuff-26".
